Newcomers lift Charge to third straight win

By Sam Amico

Jon Leuer scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and JaJuan Johnson added 13 points, and the Canton Charge coasted to a 90-81 win over host Springfield in NBA D-League action Thursday night.

Leuer had been assigned to the Charge by the Cavaliers earlier in the day. Meanwhile, Johnson was playing in his first game with Canton following a trade with Fort Wayne last week. The Mad Ants received the rights to Luke Harangody and a third-round pick in the 2013 D-League draft in return.

The Charge (9-8) have won three straight.

Dennis Horner led the Armor (4-9) with 15 points.

Canton returns to action Saturday at Maine. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

• Charge center Arinze Onuaku suffered a knee contusion at practice Wednesday after colliding with a teammate. He is day-to-day.
