Cavs assign Samuels to Canton

The Cavaliers have assigned power forward Samardo Samuels to the Canton Charge of the NBA D-League, general manager Chris Grant said Friday. Samuels will be available for the Charge’s home game Friday vs. the Tulsa 66ers.

Samuels is in his third season, all with the Cavs. He has played 18 games this year, compiling averages 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds. He is averaging a career-low 10.9 minutes per game.

The Cavs host the Atlanta Hawks tonight (7:30), then travel to Brooklyn to face the Nets on Saturday.
