Newest Cavalier signee Kevin Jones continued his run of double-doubles, and the Canton Charge were finally rewarded because of it — as the Charge raced to a 91-80 D-League victory over Erie on Friday in front of 2,364 at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.
Jones finished with 27 points and 13 rebounds in his first game on assignment from the Cavaliers. He was in camp with the Cavs as well, but waived before the start of the regular season. Former Charge forward Luke Harangody was waived so the Cavs could make room for Jones.
Meanwhile, former Cavs guard D.J. Kennedy scored 21 to lead the BayHawks. Kennedy was traded to Memphis in the off-season for Jeremy Pargo and a second-round draft pick.
The Charde (1-3) and BayHawks (1-1) meet again Sunday night in Erie. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
