For once, the Cavaliers conducted a couple of MRI’s this season and the news wasn’t all the way bad. According the the team, rookie shooting guard Dion Waiters suffered a bruised left index finger in Tuesday’s loss against Phoenix — and is good to go.
Meanwhile, veteran guard Daniel Gibson, who has missed three of the previous six games with elbow soreness, has an elbow bruise and is day-to-day.
Earlier this month, guard Kyrie Irving injured his left index finger, and the MRI revealed it was broken. Irving is expected to miss about another two weeks.
Waiters is averaging 15.0 points on 38-percent shooting. He also is hitting 38 percent on three-pointers.
Gibson is averaging 9.1 points on 43-percent shooting, including 40percent from beyond the arc. Over the past 10 games, Gibson is averaging just a shade less than 11 points.
The Cavs (3-12) return to action Friday at Atlanta.
