CANTON – Cavs training camp invitee Kevin Jones scored 31 points and pulled down 16 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Canton Charge dropped a 94-91 decision to the visiting Springfield Armor on Saturday.
The Charge are 0-2, with both losses taking place at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.
Arinze Onuaka added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Charge, and Micheal Eric, another member of Cavs training camp, grabbed eight boards off the bench.
“They came in well-prepared,” said Charge coach Alex Jensen. “They were here the night before and I’m sure they watched our game (Friday). They did a great job of making the adjustments. In the end, we still beat ourselves.”
Former NBA guard Ben Uzoh tallied 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for the Armor (1-0). Uzoh played two games with the Cavs last season.
The Charge return to action Wednesday at Fort Wayne.
