Point guard Kevin Anderson scored 23 points and forward Kevin Jones grabbed 21 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough, as the Canton Charge dropped a 95-92 decision to visiting Fort Wayne in D-League preseason action Saturday.
Anderson and Jones (eight points) were in training camp with the Cavaliers. Another Cavs camper, center Micheal Eric, compiled eight points and seven boards in 18 minutes for the Charge.
Former Celtics forward JaJuan Johnson tallied 22 points and 10 boards to pace the Mad Ants. Johnson was the No. 1 overall pick in the D-League draft earlier this month.
Here is video of Anderson speaking after the game.
The Charge open the season Nov. 23 vs. Maine at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.
