INDEPENDENCE, Ohio – Cavaliers backup center Tyler Zeller has been cleared by doctors to play, and could return to the rotation as soon as Saturday, when the Cavs host Dallas.
Zeller missed the last four games (all losses) with a concussion and cheekbone fracture. He suffered the injury in a win over the Clippers nearly two weeks ago, the result of an accidental elbow to the face from Clippers center DeAndre Jordan.
Zeller has been fitted with a protective mask.
In other news, Cavs backup forward Luke Harangody will miss up to six weeks following knee surgery, the team announced Friday. Harangody has been on the inactive list all season.
