The Cavaliers have hired Koby Altman pro personnel manager, general manager Chris Grant said Wednesday. Altman, 29, was an assistant coach at Columbia University, an Ivy League program, for the past two seasons.
Altman will coordinate the Cavs’ domestic scouting and assist Grant and VP of basketball operations David Griffin in other areas, according to a statement from the team.
Altman also spent a season as a graduate assistant at Southern Illinois. He is a former starting point guard at Middlebury (Vt.) College, and possesses a master’s degree in sports management from UMass-Amherst.
