Former Indians outfielder Kenny Lofton addressed the Chris Perez interview on 92.3 The Fan, and it’s worth a listen. Lofton basically put Perez on a batting tee and swatted him into Lake Erie.
Among the highlights:
“All of a sudden, you get to first place for a couple of days and you think you’re big time. That’s not how it works. You have to constantly do what you have to do on the field and off the field to get the fans to come. That happens in any city, not just Cleveland. And Chris Perez has to understand that.”
And: “He don’t get it.”
Finally, Lofton assured that if players are paid enough, they will play in Cleveland.
